Please note the following information:
The 2014 West Virginia Honey Princess pageant
is open to female contestants ages 8 – 12 years old. This pageant is open only to West Virginia residents, however Ohio
residents may enter with sponsorship from a member of the West Virginia Bee Keeper’s Association.
Interviews: Each contestant will have a one-on-one interview with each judge on Friday. After interviews,
we will have a pizza party for contestants and parents will have the opportunity to speak with the Pageant Director to answer
any questions. Interview attire for Friday’s personal interview will be casual street wear. Contestants SHOULD NOT wear
formal interview outfits.
Competition: Saturday, at 10:00 am at the WV Honey Festival, City
Park, Parkersburg. Contestants will wear age-appropriate Sunday best or party dresses for Saturday’s pageant. No pageant/glitz
All contestants will receive appreciation awards. The “West Virginia Honey Princess” will
receive banners, trophies, etc. The West Virginia Honey Princess will be expected to remain at the Festival on Saturday following
her crowning, and will be expected to make appearances at scheduled activities on Sunday.
The “West Virginia
Honey Princess” will be expected to attend events at the West Virginia Honey Festival following her crowning, and will
act as the ambassador for the West Virginia Honey Festival until the following year's Festival.
Please enclose a black/white or color photo to be used for the newspaper. Photos will be returned to the contestant on the
day of the pageant.
